Tre' Price

Tre' Price

On 02/19/2008, our son Woodrow B. Price, Jr. “Tre’” was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 11. We were beyond devastated but remained faithful. Tre’ went into remission within 2 weeks of his diagnosis. Unfortunately, the cancer returned in 2010 and as a result, Tre’ would need to have a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Upon his initial diagnosis, we were introduced to A Message of Hope Cancer Fund to aid us financially as well as spiritually. They helped us with funds for food, gas, rent, medical bills, etc. MHCF remained a consistent support system for us through the duration of Tre’s treatment.
As a result of the Bone Marrow Transplant, Tre’ is now 21 and is disease free.
I don’t think we would have made it as far as we did without the hard work and dedication of the doctors and staff at Children’s National Medical Center and the generosity of all the donors and supporters of MHCF who in return blessed our family. We are forever grateful.

Sincerely,
Crystal K. Price ( Mother) & Tre’ (Son)

In addition to the already burdensome costs of treating cancer, when a child or family member is critically ill, one parent may have to leave his or her job to care for them. This makes it difficult for families to cover expenses they previously did not have difficulty with, such as utility bills, rent or mortgage payments, rising gas costs, and other everyday expenses. MHCF offers families assistance with some of these costs.
