A Message of Hope's Mission

A Message of Hope Cancer Fund's mission is pure and simple. We provide direct financial assistance to families who face the monetary burdens associated with cancer. We are an all-volunteer organization. The funds we raise go directly to providing small grants to help cancer patients and their families in meeting their financial obligations. All applications for grants must be submitted to A Message of Hope Cancer Fund via a certified social worker, nurse navigator or case manager in order to verify the medical diagnosis and financial need of applicants.

In addition to the already burdensome costs of treating cancer, when a child or family member is critically ill, one parent may have to leave his or her job to care for them. This makes it difficult for families to cover expenses they previously did not have difficulty with, such as utility bills, rent or mortgage payments, rising gas costs, and other everyday expenses. MHCF offers families assistance with some of these costs.
